He was born March 18th, 1983, at 7:06am to Richard and Cheri Ashley at St Anthony in Effingham.
Jim graduated from Effingham High School in 2001 and spent his entire life close to the area. He had a heart of gold and brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Jim was a natural entertainer, who never knew a stranger. He was an incredibly talented artist, and his passion for music began when he received his first guitar at 15, sharing that passion with anyone willing to jam. He could bring a movie quote into any conversation and enjoyed taking his children to the movies. He also loved bonding with his son over their shared love of video games. His kids were his absolute pride and joy. To know Jim was to love him, and he is so missed by everyone already.
Jim is survived by his parents Rick and Mary Ashley, Cheri Ashley and Julie Brugh; children Scottie Ashley and Greyson Ashley; sisters Amy Ashley (Brandon Wininger), Donna Ashley (Bruce Reeves), and Juli Mietzner (Nathan Mietzner); brothers Glen Webb Jr, Eric Webb (Debbie Moore), and Justin Webb; maternal grandmother Doris Hammel; nine nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; and numerous friends he considered honorary family.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ed and Donna Ashley; Justice and Loleta Hutson; Uncle Jim Ashley; maternal Grandfather CB Kelton; Uncle Danny Kelton; and Aunt Debbie Kelton.
