Evangelyn “Eva” Rae Wagstaff, age 79, of Alma, passed away at 8:17 am, Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home in Alma.
Eva was born November 4, 1938, in Iuka, IL, the daughter of the late Edward and the late Mary Belle (Jean) Butts. She was united in marriage to David L. Wagstaff Sr. on June 27, 1959, in Kinmundy, IL. He survives in Alma.
She was employed as a watiress, cook, and caregiver and worked for The Curve restaurant in Kinmundy at one time and also at Doctor’s Nursing Home in Salem. She truly enjoyed cooking.
Eva leaves to mourn her passing, husband David of Alma; son, David L. Wagstaff Jr. of Salem, Dale Wagstaff of Alma; daughter, Theresa Herley of Vandalia; brother, Earl (Virginia) Butts of Alma; sisters, Tawnya (Thomas) Davis of Flora, Velva Ruth Powell, of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren, Richard Herley of Odin and Rachel Herley of Carbondale; great-grandchildren, JJ and Jaycee Keller of Louisville.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neal Funeral Home of Kinmundy, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, June 4, 2018. Cremations rites will be accorded following the visitation. Burial will take place at Alma Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
