Doris Maurine Crockett, 92, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Neoga, Illinois and Carmi, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in Round Rock, Texas.
Doris was born December 12, 1925, in Neoga, Illinois, the daughter of John Elmer and Jennie May (Gibbons) Coen. She married Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Crockett, July 15, 1951, in Neoga, Illinois. Doris was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church of Austin, Texas. Kenneth preceded her in death on December 1, 2017.
Doris leaves two sons, John Crockett of Houston, Texas and Thomas Crockett of Raleigh, North Carolina and also Tom's wife Cynthia Crockett and their children, Faith Crockett and Christian Crockett.
Mrs. Crockett was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Carroll, Paul, Robert, and Richard R. Coen, Sr. ; three sisters, Kathryn Coen, Virginia Haskett and Ruby Braden.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois, with the Rev. Richard Coen of Neoga, officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M., to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, IL.
