Edward LaVerne Cusac, Sr., age 90, of Kinmundy, passed away at 11:00 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem.
Edward was born Saturday, August 27, 1927 in Lostant, IL, the son of the late Raymond O. Cusac and the late Mary (Stimac) Cusac. He was united in marriage on August 12, 1967 in Lincoln, IL to Linda L. Simpson. She survives in Kinmundy.
He was employed as a laborer and jack-of-all-trades by Owens Glass and the Village of Rutland. He served in the United States Military as one of the first to serve in the army aircorps, and served as a CPL.
Edward is survived by wife Linda; sons, Glenn (Julie) Eugene Cusac of Navarre, FL, Edward (Tracy) Laverne Cusac, Jr. of New Baden, IL, James Edward Cusac of Rutland, IL and Thomas Lee Cusac of Rutland, IL, daughters, Marianne Elaine Audi of Streator, IL and Janet Lynn Block of Upland, CA; brother, Ronald Charles Cusac of Rutland, IL, sisters, Marie Cusac of Minonk, IL and Florence Voltz of Lombard, IL; sister-in-law Barbara McCollum of Murfreesboro, TN; grand children Mikayla, Zachery and Isabell Cusac, Christopher McColl, Alexander Cusac; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents, son, David Lyle Cusac; daughter, Judith Ann Marshall; brothers, Sherman Gregory Cusac, Raymond Oliver Cusac Jr., Bobby Eugene Cusac, William Richard Cusac; sister, Katherine “Ella” Bobinsky, brother-in-law, Harvey Simpson, sister-in-law, Roberta Jones; mother and father-in-law, Evelyn and Roscoe Simpson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
