Theodore F. "Ted" Willenborg, 80, of Effingham, IL, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham with military rites. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or St. Anthony Schools.
Ted was born on August 17, 1938, in Effingham, IL. the son of Clarence and Clara (Hemmen) Willenborg Sr. He was united in marriage to Georgia A. Stortzum on April 11, 1959, in Effingham, IL.
Ted worked alongside his family at the sawmills. He loved driving around to look at wildlife and nature. He enjoyed deer hunting. Ted was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He served in the Illinois Army National Guard for 10 years.
Ted is survived by his wife, Georgia Willenborg of Effingham; daughter, Tira Bloemer of Sigel; grandsons, Tyler Bloemer and Alex Bloemer; brothers, Clarence Willenborg Jr. and Dennis (Jane) Willenborg both of Effingham; sister, Delores Johnson of Effingham; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Karen Shields.
