Sharon Katherine Riley, age 71, was awarded heavenly peace on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, in her home at Wetherell Place in Effingham, IL, where she lived for twenty-seven years.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Wetherell Place in Effingham.
Sharon, the oldest daughter of Wayne and Margaret (Stephens) Riley, was born on March 22, 1947, in Effingham, IL. She attended St. Anthony Grade School and has been a beloved consumer at Community Support Systems in Teutopolis, IL for many years. She attended SEARCH and EASTER religion classes. Sharon liked to do crafts, word search puzzles and loved looking pretty. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and cheating at cards. She was a quiet person but had a special way of making others smile.
Sharon is survived by her siblings, Marie Riley and Stephen Riley both of Carterville. She will be greatly missed by her loving family at Wetherell Place, co-workers and staff at Community Support Systems as well as the many others she has touched throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
