Joseph Marion Barnick, age 78, of Farina, Illinois passed away at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019, at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. There will be a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Tom Fedrigon will be officiating. Burial will be at Sidener Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at C&A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. Memorials may go to Sidener Cemetery or the donor's choice.
Joseph was born on March 2, 1940, in Avena Township, Illinois, the son of Joseph Edward and Goldie (Grubaugh) Barnick. He married Judy Ann Smith on June 2, 1962, at St. Mary's Church in St. Elmo, Illinois. He enjoyed mowing, listening to St. Louis Cardinal ballgames, collecting coins, going to the Edgewood Opry and listening to the music, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Barnick of Farina, Illinois; two sons, Tim Barnick (wife Tina) of Altamont, Illinois and Jim Barnick of Effingham, Illinois; two daughters, Patty Barnick of Effingham, Illinois and Julie McGuire (husband Tracey) of Altamont, Illinois; brother, Denny Barnick (wife Janet) of St. Elmo, Illinois; sister, Betty Britt of Patoka, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Ruth Barnick of Brownstown, Illinois and Carol Ann Barnick of Brownstown, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Clayton, Kyle (wife Jeanie), Brock (wife Alicia), Kayla (husband Lucas), Jonny, Hannah, Jacob, and Emily; six great-grandchildren, Harper, Kade, Novalee, Reign, Izabella, and Finleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Goldie Barnick; brothers, Sam Barnick and Chuck Barnick; sister, Charlotte Cutright; and brothers-in-law, Charles Britt and Bud Cutright.
