Robin Charles Aanes, 65, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 6:05 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. noon on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
Robin was born on October 20, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Reider and Margaret C. (Zellweger) Aanes. He married his love, Rhonda D. (Wilhoit) Aanes on May 1, 1980, in Effingham.
Taking care of his family was his first priority in life. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and was the best Papaw anyone could have asked for. He worked for Advance Transportation for 20 years in Teutopolis and retired from RR Donnelley in 2011. His passion was antiques and he loved to go to car shows and fish in his spare time.
Robin is survived by his wife, Rhonda Aanes of Effingham; daughter, Kristina Dickerson of Springfield, MO; daughter, Alisha (Matt) Willenborg of Springfield, MO; daughter, Andrea Aanes of Effingham; grandchildren, Ray Dickerson, Alexis Dickerson, Logan Willenborg, and Landon Willenborg all of Springfield, MO; and sister, Sonja Skaggs of Springfield, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Albert Aanes.
